A handfasting was often a trial.
Not a wedding — a year and a day. Two people bound at the wrists, the words spoken in front of the people who knew them both, and then life was allowed to test it. At the end, free to walk on together or apart, with no shame either way.
I offer handfastings in two forms:
Ceremonies are held outdoors where possible, or in a space that means something to you. Cords, words, and elements are chosen with you rather than handed to you.
